port length?

I have two 10 inch alpine type Rs with a 3.9 cubic foot box in a firebird. Im wanting to port the box but unsure what size and lengh I should port it. should I go with just one 4inch port or two 3inch ports? how long? im wanting street bass

The length of the port depends on the amount of port area, volume of box and desired tuning.

use 2 stock length 4" aero ports and it should be tuned around 33hz.

Can I use 4 inch PVC pipe? could i get by just using one port? there isnt much room for two 4 inch ports

you have to tell us the dimensions of the box so we know how big the port can be

The box is in a firebird, the subs fire up. I built the box for three JL audio tens but I traded them for two alpine type R's. it is 3.9cubic ft. I put one sub on each side, and platted the middle hole. I was hoping to place a port in the plate, between the two subs. I can attach a picture if necessary

I went with a square vent 6in wide, 4in tall, and 9in long. sound about right?

still not much port area, but see how it sounds. what did you want it tuned at? i get around 38hz

It sounds like crap, not loud at all. think my friends Sony's would take it. The box is 4.45cu not 3.9cu. I figured it was 33hz. either way it blows. longer port? i dont know what to do. they should have plenty of power. I have a Memphis 16-MCD1000 amp. running 600rms at 2ohms
