Port for mid-bass

I've heard that i could get a tremendous output of midbass if i could port the enclosure.

FYI, i have a pair of hertz hv165xl i need to fit somewhere in the front doors. Will try to do custom fiberglass. If i happen to build something decent for my tweeters in A pillars, i will do the same for the 6.5'' for sure.

So, any of you guys ever built something like that ? do i need to build some kind of a wooden box in the back then port it and cover everything in fiber ? i guess for optimal performance the mid needs a box with ''x'' volume and port area ? What do i need ?

And, how far can i go in the off-axis angle and in what direction the port should be oriented to ?

Will also sound deaden everything...

You can port it for more output from 80-200, but for an SQ speaker I'm not sure if that's an advantage.

I'm playing with models around 0.3 cf tuned at 70 starting to roll off around 90 with about +4dB vs sealed and doesn't meet with the sealed plot until close to 50hz.

I expect their intent was for IB, which is just a very gradual slope dropping about 3db from 200 to 100, and another 3 by about 70hz.
