port firing sideways

Sorry I made the thread using my phone..... so no one has or knows that it would be quieter or the same if I were to do subs up port sideways

 
does not sound like it would be better, and seems like it would flow better aiming back. both my friends with suvs point both subs and ports back

 
I've done many side ported setups and unless you compete it doesn't matter. Only the Term-Lab could tell the difference. Both side ported and rear ported sounded the same.

Sub orientation does make a difference. Subs up is noticeably louder but subs back has always sounded better to the ear IMO.

You could try to make the port longer, but there might be other reasons with the box won't extend lower, or even the sub. You'd have to reverse...
