port displacement help.

ok im tryin to figure the port displacment out if you havnt noticed and i just wanted someone to check what i got...

port is 10''x10''x14.6'' with 3/4 mdf....i got a displacement of .9 '' is this correct if not plz show me the correct way to figure this out ...

does it use a side of the box wall as one of the port chambers? if so, just do:

(port width + wood thickness) x (port height) x (port length - wood thickness) / 1728, and that will get you close enough.

however, this wont work with labrynth style ports.

not even the top and bottom walls?

if it does use the top and bottom walls of the box, just do [port width + 2(wood thickness)] x (port length - woodthickness) x (port heigth) / 1728

if it doesnt use the top and bottom walls of the box, do [port width + 2(wood thickness)] x (port length - woodthickness) x [(port heigth) + 2(wood thickness)] /1728
