Weird. Good thing I didn't do that then. I'd figure that less room in the car would give you more bass but with your experimentation. I guess subs really do need something to "load off* of. I never did understand wtf that meant.

What car? Right now I have subs forward and port to the side. Gets pretty loud. Next I was going to do subs forward port forward

True. I have always had the best luck with subs going into the cabin in my accord

good to know seeing that i have a accord currently and mines sub and port forward into cabin, but still have to seal it off

Port direction matters a lot. You lose a lot of output if the port is in inadequate locations. All serious competitors know the importance of port loading and direction.

especially running a 1 sub setup.

In my edge, I have port and subs up and it's wrecking my whip. Edges are shorter in the back than front, so I guess that's like a loading effect

did you try facing into the cabin, but pushing the box to the back of the trunk? Some have good luck with that

Yea I tried all the different ways. Loudest was subs back. Port back. Cleanest was subs and port closest to cabin

Same I will always run single. Just no reason for more unless your running small drivers

in trunk builds port and sub firing into the cab sounds best. in walls, ports are always firing fwd. sealed boxes in trunks are best firing to the trunk.

Sounds best and output are different. Atleast a 50% loss in output in exchange for sound quality

getting the most out of one sub setup.in other words,find that one spot where you get the best output just like i have in my truck with sub and port loading off rear passenger door and wall.efficiency

I've got a set up CSCStang built a box for... 2010 Dodge Charger.. Sub loads of Side of the trunk and is ported through the Rear Deck. Port loads off the Back Glass. Not sure what it will sound like... Still working on the install..

Port direction matters very much I've learned recently....

My Rear facing but Side firing port enclosure does not give optimal performance as per one SPL installer. The box was designed as such due to space constraints and seats whose non-adjustable recline angle was too sharp to allow for a top fire enclosure.
