Port area too much?

I goofed on my box and will end up with 47sq in of port to one z v2 12. The first bend of the box is 36sq in like its supposed to. This is obviously going to raise the tuning but other than that should i be alright?

14.5inches by 2.5 was supposed to be the port and i accidentally to 3.25 by 14.5

thats a lot of port man... 23.5 in^2/ cube. It will make noise if that's what you're asking. I wouldn't run a lot of power to it.

*edit- now that I think about it I've done something like this before and it wasnt a total fail. It will probably unload below tuning really fast

Thats what I figured, Might sound a little sloppy but then again the sub is pretty beast. Might just keep it for an spl box

Can you " double baffle" the port? Saves you from rebuilding a new box.

nawww, were just gonna smack out the ports with a hammer and redo it (fill the screw holes with loctite caulking and sand it

If the suspension on the sub is really stiff, I don't see it being a big issue. I had a spl box tuned to 52hz for my 21" Autotek sub, and it played down to 40hz or so without crapping itself.
