Port Area for a.....

Okay, this will be my last box thread, I will make the Fing thing tomorrow and Friday and finally get this subwoofer in...

So I decided to make a slot ported box that will be 5 cubes before displacement and tuned to 31Hz. I would like to know what kind of port area I should aim for during this project. The driver is a 15" Beyond Audio Inhuman, DVC 2,single spider I believe....

Bump, I came up with something if someone wants to check the numbers for me...

external dimensions:

28" W x 17.5" H x 25" L

Port- 5" W x 16" H x 35" L

It should come out to ~31Hz (or around there according to BB6)...

You told me that I could use small PVC piping in the corners instead of cutting 45's, would I also be able to use small wooden dowels?

Also, IceTeeBone reccomended me to use dowels for bracing, would one dowel from from to back baffle be enough?

Hmmm dowles would work but i recomend using threaded rod. Try the dowles and if its still flexing add some more bracing until it stops //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What about 2 x 3 studs? maybe a single one for bracing?

WinISD comes up with the box being 29Hz..
