Poor radio reception?

I instaled an Avic-N2 in my bosses '03 Ram, but the radio reception is really shitty. FM is good going north/south but when you go east/west all he gets is fuzz. AM is barely audible besides the fuzz. The brain is under the middle front seat on the ****** hump, and I used a scosche univeral antenna adapter to connect te factory antenna wire to the supplied antenna extension. Has anyboy else had a problem ith this? I can't find anything in the trouble shooting parts of the manual that says anything about radio. Thanks

Yah I have this same problem with my fm signal. I have a pioneer 6400 and the radio SUCKS. My parents stock systems are wayyyyyyyy better in fm/am (not that i listen to it tooooo much). Well Im about to buy a pioneer 8mp so i hope it gets better.
