polyfill necessary for (3) JBL W12 Gti Mk II's?

I am going from 2 to 3 w12s and I'm switch to a sealed enclosure, my box is 4.7 cubes, so thats roughly 4.3 net after sub displacement, the jbl website recommends 1 cubic foot per sub plus poly fill, since I will have about 1.4 cubic feet of space per sub can I skip polyfill? If so, what are the pros and cons of using poly fill?

try it both ways and see if you can tell, i probably would not if you are larger than recemended.
