Polyfill - can't find a definite answer

I've searched the boards cause this topic has been covered a few times already but can't seem to find a definite answer. I have a Rockford T1 in a 2.75 cu ft. ported enclosure (32 hz) and I'm thinking about adding polyfill to it this weekend. I have seen on many posts that its used for sealed enclosures, but what are the effects on a ported enclosure? Will it change tuning frequency at all? Will I gain or lose dB's? I read something about it will lower my peak by about 3 dB's. Still kind of unsure about using it.

I've taken the liberty of modeling your enclosure (note this is raw response, not factoring in cabin gain) Red trace is your box now, green is the response after adding fill (about a pound).

My rule of thumb about using fill in vented boxes, if it sounds too boomy, try it with fill, it should smooth it out somewhat, fill can make an enclosure sound better, it will never make it louder.
