Polk PA660

Hey guys,

Upgrading the system in a car that I bought a couple weeks ago. I have a long way to go, but I have most of my starter equipment bought. I have a question to which I cannot seem to find an answer, so I'm turning the question over here.

I have a Polk PA660 4 Channel amp and a Kenwood DNX5120 HU. I know the HU is a little old, but it's what I have right now, can't afford to shell out 7-800 for another decent DVD HU.

The Kenwood HU has only 2 pre-amp outs, a front and a rear/sw. I will be hooking up a Kicker 12CX1200.1 amp through the Rear/SW pre-amp. I will be hooking the Polk up to the Front pre-amp out for the front channels (at least).

Here's my question.

The Polk amp has a High-level input built-in. Would I be better off for the rear channels (which I want slightly lower than the fronts so that the backs are just filler and not really prominent) in utilizing the high-level input and just running back the wire for the rear wires from the HU or should I use splitters on the RCA from the Front pre-amp out at the Amp?

I'm trying to pull the sound stage a bit forward, which is why I want the backs just to be filler.

If there are any questions you need answered, please let me know, but that's all I can think of for now.

do not use high level inputs. the amp can run on 2 channel input. just set mode to 2 channel.
