Polk DXi124 or JBL GT5-12D?

I have 500w @ 2ohms on tap for power and a 1cft. enclosure.I found some reviews and vids on both but cant decide.I'm trying to stay under $100.Does anyone here have experience with either of these subs?...Thnx for your input

The JBL GT5 is basically a lesser rated Infinity Reference 1262w. The t/s parameters are very similar iirc, I know for a fact the companies are both owned by Harmon International Group (harman kardon.) I had a pair of the Infinities last year and they sounded great. I ran 375wrms to each and they didnt even break a sweat. I only ran them in a sealed box, about 1.15 cu/ft per sub after sub displacement. I really wish I knew about ported boxesback then, I think they would really open up on the low end in a ported setup. No experience with Polk products.

Id go with a JBL P1224 or P1222 depending on what coil configuration you need. Only $30 more than your budget shipped, brand new, with a warranty. Or you can watch the classifieds and grab a decent 8" or RE SE. There are loads of 8" subs that will do well in small ported boxes.

No contest between these and the JBL Power series.

it needs very little airspace, work incredibly well in a small sealed enclosure, and is only 5.5 mounting depth. this is on roughly 400 watts

Box is built already for a 12'' , the jbl p-series wont fit b/c of the mounting flange.Keep the recommendations coming yall.

Had the box layin around from previous build.I have a Dayton Quatro single 4ohm temporarily in there so I'm not getting full potential from the amp.
