Police Package

yeah exactly. execpt i've known this woman for nearly my entire life (12-13 years) and i would trust her with my life.
and im sure she knows alot about this type of stuff, like all the ins and outs of here patrol vehicle..ask the engineers over at ford, not the cop

either way, liek i said its not like the public sees them anyways
That may be dependant on what part of the country you're in, David.

The Yellow Checker Cab Co. we have here buys retired police cruisers exclusively. This is due to PI package-optioned cars having the external oil and ****** coolers plus a considerably beefier suspension makes them ideal candidates for the severe duty seen by your average taxicab (FWD cars make very poor cabs, btw...)

The woman that owns Yellow Checker here buys all her cars at auction in Longview (dunno what part of TX you're in so I dunno if you know where Longview is) from some retired judge over there that runs auctions on used/retired city and county owned vehicles - including the police units.

Excepting having all the decals, lightbars, and whatnot removed there's no difference between the cars that get auctioned there and the ones still in use by whatever law enforcement agency they came from.

I once owned a 1980 Dodge St. Regis that was optioned with the police/taxi package offered by Dodge that year. It had heavier suspension springs and larger front brake discs...was powered by a 5.9L (360c.i.d.) v8, 4bbl carb, dual exhaust, a mild cam, and hotter heads with a 727 TorqueFlite auto made the difference between the police/taxi package-optioned cars and the civilian versions you could have bought that year from any Dodge dealer in the nation. It was big, ugly, and got about 8mpg City. But there was 140 on the speedo and it wasn't difficult in the least to sink the needle.

refer to inhumanacura's post..
whatever bro, i'm just going by what she tells me. its like going into a physics lecture hall and saying the teacher doesn't know what he's talking about because he doesn't need to teach from a book even though he has written one
