But it wont make a difference in sound right?I believe it reverses the direction which the speaker cone moves. For every time the music wants the cone to go out, the speaker will move in, and vice versa.
Whatever sounds better, go for it. As far as I know, it won't damage your speaker to reverse the polarity. But it wont make a difference in sound right?
Nice.... I guess I can try it. lol See what happens. My Type R's should be thumppin with less gain. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifWhatever sounds better, go for it. As far as I know, it won't damage your speaker to reverse the polarity.
A musical signal is a "wave"...with crests and valleys. The "crest" would be positive, the valley would be negative. When wired "regularly" (+ to +, - to -), the speaker will move outward with the crest and inward with the valley of the signal. If you reverse the polarity, the speaker will move inward with the crest and outward with the valley. What does reversing polarity really do? An a mono amp? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
YES... I see. But this wouldnt make a sub sound "different" will it?A musical signal is a "wave"...with crests and valleys. The "crest" would be positive, the valley would be negative. Looks like some testing will have to be done tommorow. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifYes, it will make the sub sound different. Use whatever polarity makes your sub sound better to the ear. It might add upper bass, it might add lows, it might shake your car more, it might sound tighter, it might sound sloppier, or it may straight sound like shit. Whatever sounds better to your preference, keep it there.
It can, yes, because it will change the phasing of the subwoofer and hence it's "interaction" with the other speakers in the car, etc.YES... I see. But this wouldnt make a sub sound "different" will it?
I reversed the polarity and it sounds "tighter" and not as booomy... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Im stull not satisfied with my system... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gifIt can, yes, because it will change the phasing of the subwoofer and hence it's "interaction" with the other speakers in the car, etc.
WHY wopuld u do that?! lolDon't try reversing the polarity of power to the amp. It's not good. Ask me how I know. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
