ok so I have a Pioneer DEH-4000UB and its having a problem with the USB recognizing my iTouch so I shall be returning it back to crutchfield. now the questions is... stay with Pioneer or go Alpine.

I really like the look of the Pioneers and Alpine.

6000UB:

Pros:

4volt preouts

advanced audio retrever

Cons:????

9884:

Pros:great price

Cons:2volt preouts

9886:

pros:

nice looking interface

4volt pre outs.

$300.00 price tag

its the 9886 is $50 dollars more than the 6000UB so I guess it really comes down to the 9886 or 6000UB. so long for trying to get a head unit under $150 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i got pioneer 6900usb and i like it, the usb doesnt regonise my old old ipod but nothing really does, and i got mine refurbed from crutchfield for 100$ they both seem like decent decks, but ive never ran an alpine, i got the 4V outs cause i needed to give my hifonics amps a good start, i would just get which ever one you like better

HRM.......

I like the fact the alpine has the 6 button tuner preset buttons, and I like the display of the alpine, but for the extra $50 is it worth it to me the 6000UB looks good as well. but the 6000UB has 7 eq settings , is $50 cheaper, has that audio

hrm I might have to go with the 6000UB

One of my friends has a 4000ub and its a great HU, just doesn't look great.. the 6000 looks much cleaner! My other friends has the 9884 and its pretty amazing. It controls his iPod very well and powers his component mids and tweets nicely.

so I placed on order for a DEH-P7000BT

stepped it up and now i'll have blue Tooth in the ride.

I really dont like the fact that the alpine iPod interface will not allow you to control your music from the iPod or am I wrong?

Neither will the pioneer if you're hooking it up through the usb input. If you want to control it through the actual ipod you need to use an auxillary input

From what I have tried Alpine is very good, but Pioneer is pretty good to. I would go Alpine before I got Pioneer because Alpine is all sound quality and Pioneer is power.

I have the 6000ub and I love it! nice HU. bought me a 16 gig flash drive and it rocks. just organize your files on your flash before you plug it up and it organizes in a-b-c. still haven't figured everything out on it yet but nevertheless I am happy with it..

If your reffering to the 6000; you can control the ipod directly via the usb. If you hold down the shuffle button it switches to 'control ipod' so that it can be manually controlled.

exactly. my current 4K does that and im 99.99% sure the 7K will have that option as well. this is great for putting a movie on the iTouch for those long car rides. with Alpine your SOL if you want to watch a movie.

ups tracking says dec 24th the new head unit will arrive. now only if my frigging sub and amp would show up. I already have it pre-wired and everything even built my own MDF box.
