Plz read.......PG or MTX

I am looking for a 15" sub to replace my two pioneer 12's. They are older models in a ported box and I am looking for more SQ. I was first going for audiobahn's but after reading reviews about them on here and how they just blair music and haev no SQ I decided not to choose that brand. I am debating on which sub to purchase now. I have two in mind, one is a 2003 PG Ti15D (svc not dvc) and the second is a MTX T8158. I have talked to my father and he informed me that PG was a great brand of car audio when he was into the car audio groove. I have heard mtx and know how they perform and what they sound like but I have never heard PG. Can any of you please help me. (PG=Phoenix Gold) I am on a very tight budget and both of these are pretty **** cheap on ebay thats why i have chose them.

um im not sure if the HC would be in his price range if he considering getting the PG off ebay. my bro has the PG and it is a great sub. he has a rockford 501s on it and it loves it

Yea I am very tight right now. With shipping im lookin at around 150 and with the way yall are talking about these subs they sound like they are going to be more than that. Does anyoneknow the exact price that 1 15" hc would be?

NO HC's?are you kidding me

If you are looking for better sq, you will not find it in a 15" sub, no matter what the brand. If you have two 12" subs right now, you have more surface area than one 15" sub = less spl. A 15" sub as well is great at producing some bottom end with authority but when faced with sq, they usually fail the test as compared to smaller drivers.

The road to sq is proper match of subs to box to vehicle to music, not biggest is best. You have not invested anything yet, do more research into it before you do. I would start with the box that you have for your subs.

No spec in the world or review will tell you how it sounds in your car, with your music.
