Plywood

I'm in the process of constructing kick panels. Right now I'm constructing the baffles for the 6.5's... I'm going to do something similar to what this link shows, http://web.njit.edu/~cas1383/proj/mdf/index.htm, but instead of having everything MDF I was hoping to have the mounting ring be MDF (where the speaker is actually mounted) and the flush ring (the thinner ring) be either 1/4"-1/2" plywood, depending on the speaker. Would having a plywood ring resonate for this relatively low power application (50-100WRMS), or should I go for it?

I would tend to think if you deaden your kicks properly you shouldn't run into any problems. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
