Plug 'N Play sega megadrive in-car

Hi,

I've got a plug and play 10 in 1 sega controller, it connects to the television with a white and yellow RCA cable. I am trying to connect this to the front of my AVH-P3100DVD AUX input of my head unit.

I've plugged the controller wires into a RCA coupler (red, white & yellow), and then a RCA to jack cable. Ive got the AUX1 set to Video - the screen stays black but I can hear the game sounds (and a lot of interference noise!)

Is it possible to run plug n play games (or other consoles) through the AUX input of the head unit?

I'm pretty sure everything is connected properly. Is it even possible to run a game through the aux input?

You cant run audio and video through the front 3.5mm AUX input. Its audio only. That why you hear it but dont see it, and the video signal is causing the interference... You need to plug the video (yellow) into the Video Input on the rear of the unit, and I imagine there will be Audio Inputs back there as well (red and white) so you wont need the rca to 3.5mm converter.

I've read the manual and it says its an AV source? And I can play movies using aux cable running from my iPhone

Just looked at the manual and you are somewhat correct. Its says you need a specific RCA converter (4 pole), when you look at the 3.5mm plug it should have 3 little black band /dividers on it not 2. If you have that, it also says some devices you may need to switch the red and yellow connections (yellow on the game controller to red on the RCA converter and red on the game controller to yellow on the RCA converter), have you tried that?

The jack has 3 black bands on it. The game controller only has white and yellow (no red) - but my coupler and rca cable have all 3. I've just gone out and tried to mix and match but no luck. Thanks for your help anyway, much appreciated.
