98 Dodge Ram Ext Cab..Sub/Amp Advice?

I have a 1998 Dodge Ram Ext Cab.

It has an aftermarket Kenwood stereo, and it already wired for subs.

I was considering buying a custom box with two 12" subs for it, but today a buddy came in with one 12" Rockford Fosgate sub and amp, and it hit HARD.

Anyway, i'm looking for advice for what type of sub/amp combo to buy. I also want it to hit pretty hard..so any advice? Also, my buddy said he bought his from ABC Warehouse and paid about $400 (not sure if that included his touch screen stereo).

No more than $400 IF POSSIBLE

Not looking for competition, but I want it/them to hit pretty hard!

Thanks!

Honestly, i'm pretty clueless when it comes to car audio.

I'd like to spend under $500, if possible. I'm not looking for something for competition or anything, but I want it to hit pretty hard.

Do some research. You can't just hop onto here and ask a general question like that and expect to get a straight answer as if there was only 1 perfect combo for your truck. Figure out what you want, how much room you have, how much you have to spend, and start looking at different products. Check the specs and if you don't know what some of the specs are referring to the go here: http://www.caraudio.com/forum/general-discussion/61853-car-audio-terms-defined.html

Actually, I can just hop on here and ask. If you read my earlier posts I plan on not spending more than $500 (less is better), and I am clueless when it comes to car audio. I'm asking a simple question: If this was your truck..what would you put in it?
