plexi box?!?

found some subs i like(audiopipe) they make sweet colored subs and the backside is painted nice like the cones so i was thinkin bout makin the whole box out of 3/4 plexi but i never used it before, i dont see where it would be too terribly hard to work with and i figure for where the subs mount i can get 1/8" steel rings with the whole pattern of the mounting wholes on the subs and put one on both sides of the plexi(doing 4 12's maybe so i wanna reinforce the plexi so is wont break from the wieght of the subs) meanwhile do ya think the plexi will hold up as well as MDF?
