please recommend components

yeah, and alot of people are blowing tweets....could be they are more than doubling the rms rating ha ha
tcguy is giving the mids 200w CLEAN power and the tweeters 100w CLEAN power.. And his are holding up just fine.. You need CLEAN power.

YEA cause dirty power blows shit up!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif:crazy:

what does active mean? I would be running speaker wire to each reference from a seperate channel then from to reference to both the midbass and tweeter
Active means you don't use passive crossovers which are used in most comp sets. With active many times your head unit can control where the speakers are crossed over at and the mid and tweets are run as separate channels.

...just wondering why i've seen some people recommend an empty rear stage. do you still get enveloping sound with just the frontstage? are there disadvantages to running rear components?

I think somebody said it on this thread... but

When you go to a concert, the speakers are usually all in the front and expand to the back. Supposively the same theory in the car. Spend your money on what your gunna hear infront of you, the backs are just fill.

I have the RSD's and still love them. Going over a month now and no problems. I am only givinmg them 75rms to where a lot of them are going over 200rms per side. I don't recommend that. I say 75-100rms is perfect for this set.

Under 100 smacks shipped to your door is hard to beat.

Audiosavings.com is where a lot of people get them. Check them out.

hey-

I also have a camaro I'm putting a system into, and ive been on here trying to do a LOT of research lately.

by all means, do what they are saying and dump what you can into your front speakers, and buy components for better audio quality.

personally, i'm taking my 100 dollar infinity reference coaxials, that I had in the front speaker location before, and sliding them into the back seat side panels. i figure, fade it to the front 80%, and 20% to the rear, give the infinity's power off of my reciever (20 watts or whatever it is) and just use it to fill the dead space.

i'll take the money I save and put a real nice set of components with a dedicated amplifier up front. personally, on your budget, ive heard a lot of good things about hertz hsk-165's and thats probably what I will end up using. i think they run around 350 bones. for 200, you can get some infinity kappa perfects, which I assume would also sound great. I used to have a set of infinty kappas, which are one step below the kappa perfects, and I gave them all the power they wanted with a decent amp and it sounded absolutely fantastic.

do you have an account at ls1tech.com?

I am going to second the recommendation on the Cadence CWM-6 Kit for $75 shipped. They should sell for $175 per set. For less that $100 the RSDs or Cadence are a no brainer, and will please anyone.

I get good enough SQ out of my alpine type S coaxials so I'm really just looking to get louder and maintain or improve SQ, which is why I want to get 2 decent sets of components; probably the RSD's. I already have a RF P450.4 amp for whatever I get but I'm probably ditching that amp and going with an RF T4004 or T8004.

Whatever I do should sound nice with my upgraded thump.

I have an account on ls1tech but I hardly ever get on it. I get on a lot at camaroz28.com though.
