Diamond HEX

I am getting close to ordering my system, and i was pretty much set on the Diamond s500s HEX components. I've been reading some more lately, and i've heard that the HEX are only "average". I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for 5.25" components that are less than $200 and will outperform the HEX speakers.
