It sucks that you are dealing with this and with a seller that is not offering any support.

i guess thats the risk you run buying used....regardless of whether or not he knew it or not. would be nice to have had more support behind the matter but oh well.

yeah Id say it got dropped in shipping the delivery companies are not nearly as careful with equipment as we are

i can try. but i remember reading that it says if a dispute is closed it cant be re opened. but maybe since its a new version of dispute it is different.

it sure didnt come packaged very well at all. just in the original box with no peanuts, styrofoam, nothing. just kinda sittin there.

whoops. sorry i just woke up. misread that. i think it was ups that he used but may have been fedex. ill look in a minute.

anyeone have to do carrier claims before and have any advice?

so heres a pic of an orion 2500d board i found online at db-r.com

mine looks completely different. on the edges where all the mosfets should be there is nothing. nothing at all except screws. ill post pics in a bit if i find my camera.

i couldnt see last night under the fet cover. i guess i could pull the cover off though to check the fets. everything else looks fine to me. ill post the pics of the board anyway though for others to see if they find anything wrong that i ddint see.

ok i just recently sold this dude (04silverz) my orion 2500D. it was in truck working perfectly fine and i sent it out that day. about a week later he writes me and says this..."the amp you sold me is busted, its only putting out 400 watts!" then he tells me, "i was driving and i didnt even have the music up and when i stopped it was so hot i couldnt even put my hand on." I told him double check his connections about 20 times and he swears his connection is right. so how can a busted amp still put out 400 watts and get hot with no music on and not have a bad connection...so i told him to check this thread so you guys can tell him whats wrong. thanks.

You didn't have 20 minutes to properly package a heavy *** amp and now it does not work,you owe that man.

i decided im not going to pull that cover off. i dont want to break anything if its not already broken and if it is broken i dont want to **** it up more.

anyway here is the only thing i can see without taking off that cover about teh feet. first pic shows the mosfet sitting kinda crooked and sticking out. second pic shows one of the legs disbonding it looks like. (the first set of three feet, above the set of two, look at the middle leg. kinda hard to tell but also hard to get a pic of. you can also see another shot of the one mosfet sticking out.)

I don't see anything that looks burnt or blown, not that I am an expert. I have looked over many blown amps though. I would agree and say it might have been damaged in shipping. Def try and file a claim with the shipper.

im in the process of doing that. among a bunch of other shit right now.

i thinkill probably just have to deal with it next year. im tired of even thinking about it and my comps are holding me over just fine for now.

why are u worried about this stuff when you are about to go to iraq?........why buy a amp when u are leaving?

i say send it out to someone who knows about repairing amps and see what they think.....
