Please Help!!

I just recently got my first sub system installed in my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. My system is 2 Rockford Fosgate P2 10's in a box with a Rockford T-500 amp installed right on the box. I recently had to take the box out to move my drums. When i went to unscrew the wires from the back of the amp, the wires touched and sparked twice. I made sure to cover the exposed wires in electrical tape. Does this mean that i just fried my new amp and subs? Please Help!!

most likely not.. if anything you may have blown your inline fuse that runs from the amp to the battery. i couldn't tell you how many times i've seen sparks fly. it happens. have you tried to plug it back in and see if it works? if it doesn't check you fuses. the inline from the battery, and if that one is ok, check the fuse on your amp and check to see if its blown.

I am a little new at this so please no bad comments. I have all of the wire connections wrapped in electrical tape. I don't know if i can just plug the wires back into the amp or disconnect from my battery. I do not want to do this the bad way and get shocked. How can i properly ground the cable from the battery? Thanks

disconnect power from your battery first, then attach your amp cables. after you have everything hooked up, re-attach your battery cable. Less of a chance of sparking or damaging something.
