please help

i have a problem with one of my sub amps...without rca's attached the amp has no problem maxin out but when i hook the rca's it clips at about half gain(around 2volts) and i've reran rca's to head unit ...still does it...then i strapped the amps together and still same problem...other amp works fines both securely grounded and hooked off the fosgate 17volt capacitor...but i was thinkin about scrappin these two autoteks and runnin with the MA audio 4000.1....any suggestions

You've tried a different set of rca cables and tried grounding the rca's?
