I am completely new to this so i need a little help with sumthin. I am goin to put 2 subs in my truck, each is 500W RMS and 1500W peak. I was wonderin wut range amp i would need also wut size cap i would need. Any info would help thx

depending on the budget.. you should be pretty set at anything around 400 watts.. the subs will only pull 500 watts at short intervals, so you would be safe going up to maybe 700-1000 watts... but 400 or 500 would pound and be a lot less expensive

Alright - with a pair of 500w RMS subs (1000w RMS combined) I would suggest something that can feed each sub 400~500 watts (800~1000w total) I'll assume from your wording that you already have the subs so what is the voice coil configuration on those? (single or dual voice coils on the subs and impedence of each) This will decide your possible final impedences and will help to make a decision on the best amp for your budget.

I won't recommend any size capacitor. They simply aren't worth the $$$, in my opinion. There are cheaper ways to get better results in trying to help out a weak charging system. The best place to start is by upgrading the "Big Three" in your underhood wiring. (See linked page) This route is considerably less expensive than retail pricing on any capacitor and will benefit low voltage issues heaps more.

? ? ?Subs don't "pull" any number of watts. An amplifier takes an input signal, amplifies it to whatever amount of wattage it was designed to create, then outputs it. Subwoofers, by virtue of their build quality, either accept that many watts gracefully or they don't.

Each amp is a 2 voice 4 ohm. I found a amp that will supply 500W RMS and a 1500W peak in bridged mode(not exactlly sure wut that is). Any1 think this will work? My budget is kinda big but not too big, i would like to keep it below $1500, if possible.
