Please help with wiring harness. Installing 2 Din Stereo in a Toyota Matrix 2003.

Hi,

I am replacing the stock 2 din stereo on the toyota matrix 2003. I have the wiring harness and appear to be stuck. The new stereo unit is the Xtrons TD723. I'm just going to see how it is.

The wiring harness was from Amazon.

Pretty straight forward. Now I;m tring to connect that wiring harness on to the Xtrons and I'm stuck because the wires aren't all straight forward. I did most of the wires with butt connectors.

Here's a diagram to give an idea of what I have done and what needs to be done:

2003 Matrix wiring harness: Xtron's harness:

Solid Black Connected Solid Black

Solid Red Connected Solid Red (ACC)

Solid Grey Connected Solid Grey

White w/ Black Stripe Connected White w/ Black Stripe

Solid Purple Connected Solid Purple

Purple w/ Black Stripe Connected Purple w/ Black Stripe

White w/ Black Stripe Connected White w/ Black Stripe

Solid Yellow Connected Solid Yellow (B-Battery)

Solid Green Connected Solid Green

Green Black Stripe Connected Green Black Stripe

Grey w/Black Stripe Connected Grey w/Black Stripe

Blue w/ White Stripe ? Solid Blue (Ant Con)

Solid Orange ? Solid Orange (Illumi)

Orange White Stripe ? Solid White(Tel Mute)

Solid White ? Solid White (no label)

the rest of the xtrons wires are:

Solid Green (Reverse)

Solid Brown (Amp Con)

Solid Pink (Brake-In)

I think all these are for the rear view camera so I don't really care about them. It would be interesting in knowing how it works.

The ones with "?" are the ones I'm not sure how to connect. Also, isn't it strange that there is only one blue wire for both harnesses and they are opposites?

Anyway, any help is great!

Blue with white strip is your amp turn on wire solid white is actually a speaker so you need to hook those up solid orange is if you have illumination in the dash kit orange with white stripe is your telephone mute so if you are on a call and want to mute your phone hook that up so just to clarify

Blue with white strip to blue

solid white to white

solid orange you will only need if you have a kit that illuminates which you probably dont because this is a double din radio

and also to clarify how the other wires work you actually tap those into your factory wiring for reverse and you connect the wire for the amp connect to your amp connect which is the blue wire and the brake in wire you connect to the factory wiring you have to find out which wire is which though
