I drive a 2001 Silverado Ext. cab and would like to add some bass to it. I am having the hardest time finding any boxes for my truck that have atleast 1 cubic foot of air space. Currently, I only own the amp which is a Directed audio D2400 (800 watts RMS @ 2 ohm). Now for the question...

1- Is that amp too much for a 12" Kicker CVX/D4? (750 watts RMS)

2- How would that sub and that amp sound in this box?

http://www.pickupspecialties.com/Subwoofer_enclosures/AudioEnhancers/SGMX107.htm

If this is a garbage setup, I am open to suggestions, as stated, the only piece I have at the moment is the amp (Directed audio D2400). As far as a prefrence on SQ vs. SPL I really don't care, I guess I want a little bit of both. Thanks for the help!

The sub is rated at 750 watts, you say your amp does 800 watts at that impedance... no that's definitely not too much power, assuming you set your gains to assure you do not clip the amp (and output more power than its specs state). Some people even prefer to 'overpower' their subs, and then turn the gains back on their amp. This is called headroom and allows the amp to work less, creating less distortion.
You want the box to fit under the seat? Im confident at least one company makes such a box for an 01 Silverado, very popular truck. Have you considered making it yourself to save some serious money? You could have someone here help you with the plans. The other choice is to have one of the capable box builders that frequent this site make one for you custom.

Yah, I was able to find plenty of websites that sold boxes for my truck but most are dual boxes with .7 cubic feet or less which is below the suggested on any decent sub I have ever seen. The above box has the most air space I have seen except this one:

But they won't sell it without that sub, and I have no idea if that speaker is any good!

Making a box is out of the question on my end!!! I am horrible at carpentry. By the way, What does "clipping the amp" mean?

Go to the enclosure and wiring forum and ask someone to design you a box with the max amount of room that you have and then buil it for $40 in MDF.

that first box is too small for any low end.
