I had my X850BT professionally installed. They would not do the parking break bypass. I don't want to watch DVD's while driving I want to scroll my SD folders and use full navigation controls. I decided after doing much research that I would put it on a switch (toggle) to turn on and off. Keep in mind that this was already installed so I did not want to pull my head unit. I took the green parking break wire going from the head unit to the parking break and I unhooked it from the parking break and attached it to the toggle and I grounded the other pin on the togge to the chassis.
It works perfect while sitting still without having to engage the parking break. As soon as I move over 5 mph I get the warning notice and no luck. What am I doing wrong? I read that the toggle switch solution should work. I need to also note that the professional installer did not even use the harness with the mute wire at all. He gave that back to me.
I hope someone can help. Thanks, Steve
