Alright I have 4 ehqs8s and am going to use them for HT. I bought a sonotube and its 5 feet high and 18inches in diameter. I've seen that calculator but I don't really know how to use it. So I was wondering if someone could tell me what to tune it at and how tall it should be for 4 or should I leave it 5 ft. OR should I make 2 sonosubs out of this one tube?

For HT if you want the full effect you want to tune lower. the 8s have a fs of 32 hz IIRC, tuning to 20 hz will probably lose some output, those subs are not ideal for true HT use, but hey they were 5 bucks whats it gonna hurt?

You don't have enough airspace to get any decent low end out of those subs if you use all four. That's only about 2.8 cubes for the tube and that's before port. If I had four of them, I would shoot for about 10 cubes tuned to 25hz. Leaving them sealed in that sonotube will really kill the low end output as well. They're not the best subs to choose if you want to save space. Keep in mind that box volume should NOT be determined by cone area.

alright then i'll try it out, also on here some else used winsid and it came up with something like 4 cubes to get a flat response from 2 of these 8's. So should I keep this sonotube 5ft tall?

so how would 2 8's in each tube sound if i bought another sonotub?

Where do you get 2.8? 18" diameter 5ft tall is over 8cf.

Now that I look at their specs the tube actually may be perfect. Also I can fit 4 8"s in a 18" circle.

Because I'm an idiot and didn't do 5ft height and did 19" for some reason! You could do 8 cubes at 25hz and that should sound decent but the low end may still be struggling some. With that size, power handling won't be the best either but it should be pretty efficient.
