Okay in this area im not a newbie even if this question sounds like it.

I can usually track these issues down but im at the point where im frustrated so im probably looking past it so im asking for new eyes to look at the issue.

Here is the scenario,

I have two amps, a 3000 watt mono block for the subs and 1600 watt 4 channel for the highs.

Everything is terminated with no copper exposed.

The power wire is a 2g and it goes across the firewall and in from under the glove box.

The ground is one of the bolts for the back seats, tested the ground with a multimeter.

The remote and rca's are all run down the driverside and power is on the passenger.

okay so now for the frustrating part,

When you turn it up with the subs on (and the music paused)i get a thumping deep deep thumping. Its not a wine and its only through the subs. It sounds like the exhaust.

I have checked every ground and they all are good.

i just know its probably something extremely stupid and easy and its most likely because im just so frustrated that im looking past it.. so anyone have some input?

okay here are some more steps ive taken,

i tried 3 different grounds, one on a different seat bolt and the other two in different spots drilled under the seat.

also i updated the ground from a 2ga wire to a 0ga wire...

tried a different remote

okay im out of ideas now...

this is what i tried today..

1) tried every output

2) tried straight from the back of the deck to the amp bypassing the crossover

3) changed the grounds for the amps to be a foot and a half... and grounded them to the floor of the trunk sanded down to bare metal.

4) made sure everything was terminated with no wires exposed

5) unplugged the RCA's and there was no noise.. ?

6) im sure i tried more i just cant think i just woke up lol

ground loop maybe? if so how do i get rid of it just a ground loop isolator?

-------------------------

Ive also replaced the PICO fuse and used a wire to wrap around the RCA terminals on the back of the deck….

Ive pretty much tried everything I can think of and idk what else to do…

Any input will be greatly appreciated so please help!

If you replaced the picco fuse and then messed with the rca's while the hu was still plugged in, most likely it killed the picco fuse again.

Did you ground the wire you wrapped around the rca's to the deck chassis?

Them fuses are rather small so you must have a small pencil tip soldering iron?
