ok i have a DUAL headunit and a 2000w pyramid amp and (2) 12" audiobahn SE subs. Everything was working great but now for some reason unless i have the volume like almost all the way up there is just this loud fast paced "bump bump bump bump". Even on "1" volume the bump continues and doesnt get any lower. i think you drove your amp into protection

check if it's protection light isnt lit

If the amp's protect light ISNT on, then that is a good thing, not a bad thing

But I have no idea what could do this... Maybe there is something wrong with the HU, if your interior speakers are malfunctioning as well. some how i knew someone would make a comment about the audio brads, whatever, we all started there at one point or another

i would say check your HU connection as well, that would be the main problem if everything is actin wierd

There are also amps that have lights when they're on instead of protection lights...

That makes no sense at all, a protection light comes on when the amp is in protect mode... What are you missing here?

For example, my rockford amp has a light that lights up the plastic rf logo, and no protect light, it just turns off when it goes into protection mode.

Edit: and my mtx amp has a light that when it's on it's green and when it's in protection it's red, basically i mean when this guy said the light isnt on he may be looking at the light that show's the amps on, so maybe it's not on at all...which would mean it's prolly in protection or a loose wire somewhere.

And his problem is not amplifier related, there must be another source because he has interior speaker issues as well.

drcunning- How long was everything working fine until this happened? Was ANYTHING changed, and then this occured? Have you pulled out your HU to check if there are any wires grounding to something?

as well as coaxial speakers, subs, and amps. The only thing I've not seen with a Dual brand-marking on them is component sets. Not saying they don't make them (coz I don't know) but I've never seen them. They even make a head unit with a built-in TV tuner complete with a (basically useless) 1" or 1.5" color screen in the deck!

drcunnilingus91 - is that Pyramid amplifier powering everything or only the subs? If it is only powering the subs - what is powering the interior speakers - the head unit? Give us a bit more info, please, and we might have a better idea of where to start trying to diagnose what could be your problem.

Not all amps have a protect light, they just shut off altogether.

Bah, i know i'm right here, i was trying to help out by telling you guys that it still may be in protect...I try to fvcking help and this is what i get.

If there is no protection light that is ON on his amplifier, then the amp is not in protection mode, unless there is no power to the amplifier, or there is something MAJORLY wrong with it.

And... By "protection light", I do not soley mean a light that says PROTECT on it.. So STOP ARGUING WITH ME.
