Ok I got an old MTX Blue Thunder Pro 3200 i think

I have 2 12" Alpine Type E

Got them off a trusted friend, says it all works fine.

Had the Install done at Best Buys, 4 gauge wiring kit.

Worked fine on the ride home. next trip everything stops working.

The amp is real hot. It will work if you let cool, but only for a few min. before it shuts down again.

The speakers are not blown, and Best Buy said they will check the amp before doing the install. Everything should be fine right?

The only thing I can think is the speaker are wired weird maybe 2 ohm I have a 2 channell amp i think it 4 ohm.

Idk what to do..what could be the possibilities..

Please help, I am new here and know nothing about amps.

Well the gain was 3/4, then I switched to 50% turned bass down....The first time it happened, i was messing with my stereo's eq mid's..

And I know best buy sucks..But ther isnt too much around here, there only other place the guy was shady...Went in for install guy tried to Have me give him my amp, in trade for 150 off some sony speakers and buy a new amp...

Best Buy says they have warranty I called supposed to go in tomorrow. And they are all "certified"" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I havent asked what he did yet, but ive been researching...One thing i saw said power and rca's should be ran on opposite sides...

transistors, ohms...sounds like it could be anything..I just home the amp isnt fried

I really dont know...you gonna laugh, but what is a coil???

the wire connector on the speakers have 4 tabs each. Only 2 in use with the wire setup it has.

I have an ohm tester I think they read 2 ohm , but not sure its very touchy and I dont really know how to use it right, so many dials.

Im hoping thats the problem, they are wired mono or whatever and I need stereo

thats what i thought, and was hoping for...So the wires I have are basically 2 wires seperate, but in the same coating, with 2 ends on each side + and -. I need 2 of those for each speaker right?

if so, then the wire from the speaker to the amp has 4 ends instead of 2. Do I twist the + together and the - together and plug them into the amp the same exact way?

It sounds simple im sure I can do it myself...Id let you do it as long as you dont car jack me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

for real though, im sure I could do it myself if i just knew how.
