Sounds like settings, also maybe the sony made the upper range quality better but the bass stayed the same. Lots of stock decks max bass speakers at low volumes..

Sounds like a remote turn on for the sub amp isn't hooked up..

its very likely that something isnt hooked up, possibly the rem wire for the factory amp.

In my case, I forgot to hook that up the first time around. However, my speakers did not function at all when the factory amp is off, so that's most likely not the OP's problem

So if i pulled the deck out myself what should I be looking for? certain wires not hooked up to it im guessing?

youll need to find the guide for the factory wiring harness, and figure out which one is the rem wire for the factory amp then, make sure you have it hooked up to the rem wire on the back of the deck

Just realized something. the escape comes with a factory sub if you get the mach 5 upgrade. there should be an extra 2 wires that should tie into the harness to get the factory sub playing. or just forget about it like me and do a wall.
