I just completed a very exhaustive install on my boat where i added three (2 for subwoofers) new profile amplifiers.
I have 1 420rms profile mono amplifier (1 for each sub) going to each DVC subwoofer wired at 2 ohms in seperate enclosures.
for some reason, one speaker has much higher output and is louder than the other and i can not figure out why. Also the one that is louder seems to sound more dirty especially when it hits hard on an extreme note (is this clipping?) sounds a bit like if you were to touch a vibrating device such as a cordless trimmer against a wooden door on deep notes.
all of the level settings are set the same on both amplifiers although i havent had a chance to tweak yet but seems like they should sound the same if leveled the same.
I seriously doubt that it is possible that i would have done this but, if for some reason i indeed do this, would this be happening if i accidently wired one of the DVC subwoofers incorrectly? as i mentioned they should both be at 2 ohms bit isf one was at 2 and another at a different ohm such as 4 or 8 could this be a cause?
is one speaker blown?
also, is it possible for a subwoofer to be out of phase if it is connected by itself to a mono amp?
Please give any help possible as i am a bit stressed out from this result after a 15+ hour install!!
