can someone post some db numbers using 4 re8's. I know some people here have 4 eights but i havent been able to find any numbers?

more dependent on enclosure tuning, but as the multitudes who have them installed here will tell you...

I listen to almost everything. I do listen to a lot of rap. I would also like to know if 4 re8 would be louder than 2 shivas. I have one shiva now so it would help me gauge how loud 4 8's would be if someone could compare them for me.

Actually the 15" SX has more cone area but barely...

4 RE8s = 120.92

15" sx = 125.55

And the SX has more throw so it should get louder.

4 8's has more surface area then one 15 according to my calculations but i could be wrong

the cone area ont he 4 8's arent that much greater. but they do take up alittle less space for their ported n sealed enclosures.

if room is no object i would say go with the SX and u wont be disapointed.

Go for the SX and suply all of the power that you have available, to it. You won't regret it

Mix n match. I got my 12" SX. Im planning on buying 2 RE 8"s for under my seats. B/c they take very tiny sealed enclosures. would be perfect. Next Spring im gunna get a 18" for the explorer. woooooo. y0 to da dude from holland.

I want sound quality and from what i have gathered from searching the forums and this thread no one is really sure which is louder so they must be close. But the 8's take less room and cost like $80 less (i would get the d4 sx so its 25 more).

I also need to know if 250 watts is going to be okay. Im conservative with gains but i really dont want to blow them up.

Im from holland to by the way where in michigan are you. I would really really like to hear an sx, or anything re.... all the car audio events we go to have jl and rockford, and it goes down hill from there.
