please halp with pop!

I know it's not the best I just got it dirt cheap I figured I'd try it out. Aside from the pop, which happens with or without it, it actually works pretty well.

If you've isolated the amplifier from the signal and you still get the pop, it's a problem with the amp. And buying an isolation transformer will not fix it. It sounds like you have a preamp problem inside the amplifier but to be sure I'm understanding correctly... you can disconnect all RCA cables from the amp (not from the head unit) and you still get the pop?
That's exactly right. I haven't tried disconnecting them from the head unit and testing for pop. I suspect they play a role in this noise somehow, but I have to get rid of the source at the amp end to proceed with further diagnostics
