Oh, thats good to know.F3 of 40 Hz is excellent. About as low as any production sub goes, that I know of, is an F3 of 30Hz sealed. Actually... Dayton doesn't make the Titanic 1200 anymore and the Sonicraft SC-1250 seems to be gone... so maybe there aren't any that do 30 hz anymore.
But yah, 40 Hz is great sealed. It'll drop hard. And no, it won't hurt the top end //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
See, i thought that if it is only 3db down at 40hz + cabin gain boost at low frequencies, it would make it have a sound similar to a ported setup, where the lowend is significantly louder than the upper bass.
Also i noticed in WinISD that if you go ported with that sub, and tune ANY higher than about 22-23hz, your gonna have a HUGE peak in bass response. If you port it @30hz, you get a 6db spike, lol. I dont think its just WinISD either, bcuz TC Sounds forum says the same thing. They talk about people tuning to like 30-32hz and getting a 10db peak. That is HUGE, lol. They strongly recommended against porting it that "high".
Im going sealed though so it doesnt matter to me. 30mm xmax and good cone area should make for some pretty incredible displacement capabilities.. Plus it looks sexy to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Thanx for your replies guyz:fro:
