Please Give Me The Scoop On The TC Sounds TC-3000 15"

Hi, I am hoping that someone can please tell me about the TC-3000 15" subwoofer. I ran across them about a week ago and the specs on them seem to be pretty nice.

The reason I'm asking is, I'd like to try one of them out, and they are going to raise prices soon, and I'd like to have my mind made up before they do, so if I decide to get one I can beat the deadline.

I am wondering about the 15" sub in a sealed enclosure from 2-2.2 cubic feet. And it would have about 1500 RMS going to it.

Now, I am looking for good SQ. If this sub has crappy sound quality then just let me know so I can drop the whole idea.

I already have 2 10's, but i'd much rather have a nice sounding 15" with big displacement potential like this one if i can.

So if you all would PLEASE fill me in on this sub, I will surely appreciate it. Thanx:fro:

that is perfect. id stick to the 2 cu ft. i thought i remember hearing that tc's are quite efficient in smaller boxes.

but back to the point, i have no personal expierence with owning one, i heard 1 shortly, and from my recall, as well as what they say here, the tc-3000's get quite loud, get **** low, and maintain excellent sound quality as would be expected.

let some others chime in on here. here what they say.

They are huge... have one that just came in today sitting around at the moment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Haven't hooked it up yet, but it is rather large and the current price is an absolute STEAL, IMHO... TC is practically giving them away.

Make sure thats 2.2 after displacement. Its a fairly large sub:D I like mine a lot. can get loud off little power. Keeps up with all sorts of music. And if you can port it id do so, its loud as shiot an doesnt skip a beat. Enjoy.

I have one hooked up now in a ported box and it slams. Sound quality is awesome and I'm feeding it about 1500rms as well. I wouldn't hesitate to pick up that sub, however the TC-2000 I heard is more sq oriented and also might be what you're looking for or see if you could get them to swap in a neo motor. Good luck.

Wow, i appreciate all of your replies. thanx.

It looks like I will get one. All they have left is the quad coil model though. Its better than nothing though.

Man the Fs on those subs in 22hz, lol, wow, those subs must be able to DROP with ease. The 2000 model is 18hz. The titanium cone looks beautiful, and unlike the Eclipse Titanium subs, the surround isnt humongous, which is a good thing. I am really lusting for this subwoofer right about now, lol.

Now if i can just sell my IDMAX 10's i'll be in real good shape.

Oh, one more thing... I am trying to punch in the T/S numbers into WinISD Pro, but it keeps telling me that certain numbers arent consistent or something to that effect. I'd really like to know the necessary size enclosure for a Qtc of about .8-.85

Do any of you have it set up on WinISD Pro? And if so, what sealed volume does it recommend?

Again, thanx for the speedy replies //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fro.gif.c695f1f814b01c4ad99fe7f8cccadd29.gif

or see if you could get them to swap in a neo motor. Good luck.
im not sure how many they have left... i know that the one i have (1 of 6 prototypes made, they are also 6 times stronger than a regular 3hp:) ) im pretty sure they have sold all of those tho... and its kinda pricey anyways... the regular neo 3hp (i think they might have one of these on hand if your actually interested cost $180 so that gives you an idea what the big one cost...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fro.gif.c695f1f814b01c4ad99fe7f8cccadd29.gif

Welp, i called TC Sounds today. They dont know if they will be making anymore Dual Voice coil models. They said from now on it will be quad coil. But she said they will see if they can make one for me.

The only thing is, she said production is really backed up and it would be 2 weeks before it would be ready. So she gave me a raincheck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

She said for me to call back in 2 weeks to see if they have it made, and if they arent going to make any I said I would get the quad coil. She said I will be able to get either one for the current pricing, since prices will probably go up by that time.

So...I'm happy. I dont know much about quad voice coils, but I may have to learn //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Btw, i finally got some of the T/s numbers to work in WinISD Pro, and its kind of strange... In a sealed enclosure with a qtc of .798 (1.8 cubic feet) the f3 is 40hz, is that a good or bad thing?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I've never seen a SEALED f3 that low with a .8 qtc

I even went as small as 1.25 cubic feet which made the qtc .9, and the f3 is just 42hz, and that also caused a slight bump in the 65-90hz area.

So if i go with 1.8 cubic feet enclosure (which TC recommends on their site) will it be alot of low end with soft upper bass?

I hope not

F3 of 40 Hz is excellent. About as low as any production sub goes, that I know of, is an F3 of 30Hz sealed. Actually... Dayton doesn't make the Titanic 1200 anymore and the Sonicraft SC-1250 seems to be gone... so maybe there aren't any that do 30 hz anymore.

But yah, 40 Hz is great sealed. It'll drop hard. And no, it won't hurt the top end //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
