Hi guys,

Manage to acquire 2 x Basswedge CP112-W0V3 for a good price.

Both SVC 4ohm.

CP112-WØv3 - Car Audio - Subwoofer Systems - BassWedge

And also a version 1 of the XD600/1 separately.

XD600/1 - Car Audio - Amplifiers - XD - JL Audio

Question is can I wire them as a 2ohm load as illustrated below? To deliver 600w at 2ohms.

Or would be it be more efficient to give 1 sub 400 watts at 4ohms?

Thanks

Yes that would yeild a 2 ohm final load. But that amp only delivers 400w at 2 ohms. But that should be plenty for both of those.
Amp does 600@ 2 ohms. He should be fine. When maxing out what those subs can handle be careful to set the amp up properly. Clipping will kill those subs quickly op

Thanks guys for the quick response.

Does it make a difference if I directly connect sub #2 directly to the amp in the same fashion as the first?

Cheers!

Rob

Just hook up each sub straight to the amp, you dont need to link them up like in the picture. Your amp should have two sets of positives and negatives for ease of wiring.

I had a pair of w0 12s when i first started out in my teens on a formula X junk amp and I had my head unit bass and sub level maxed heavy clip for 2 years, they survived for that long lol... these W0s are definitely a bit more tough than expected.

Thanks guys. I've read that the W0V3's can take quite a beating.

I've always had best SQ results when the amp is a touch overpowered. ie: 300rms Subwoofer and 300-350 watts amp (even 400).

Knowing JL, they should be putting more than what's on paper.

Hi Jeff,

Confirming that I don't need to wire them on the same + - terminals to get the 2ohm load?

1 2 3 4

+ + - -

Sub #1 : Terminals 1 and 3

Sub #2 : Terminals 2 and 4

Would this yield the same load?

Cheers,

Rob

Of course it will work, silly me.

They are wired from the same source inside. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
