Crazy idea # 12G

See attachment. Attempt to make sound waves go into the port, and the angles would cause some nasty cancellation to unwanted sound waves that don't make the trip.

"Well, it does logically, I mean, every time a sound wave bounces it loses energy. Since MDF soaks up sound waves, you'd theoretically lose a lot more energy with a lot of curves." Raven, you have a strong argument there. The only thing i can come up with is - When corners are added in a box, the more pressure the box will have on the inside, just from the air trying to escape. Some of the best boxes i have ever seen made had a port design similar to that of the "bose wave radio". So sometimes your theory works, others... nah.

raven why dont you save yourself sometime and go the conservative route.

I would, but I left that to JMac last December. He's got enough problems without another box to worry about. If I'm going to design it, I'm not going conventional.
