I'm looking at some amps to power 2 Skar VVX-12s at 2 ohms. Because of the electrical system in my car, I don't think I will be able to run much more than 1200 watts, so I'm just looking for an amp to do 1200 watts at 2 ohms. Came across this

sonicelectronix (dot) com/item_40564_Planet-Audio-BB2400.1-R-B.html

(post won't go through if I post full link for some reason)

Planet Audio Big Bang 2400 watt amp, does 1600 watts at 2 ohms.

The only problem is, the fuse holder in my car is rated at 130A, while the fuse on this amp is 230A. If I were to set the gains on the amp to only push 1200 watts at 2 ohms, the amp would only be drawing ~90A of current. Would that work with my fuse holder, or would I still need a 230A fuse?

Also, recommend some other good amps that can provide ~1200 watts at 2 ohms for around the same price ($250).

not at 2 ohms and 250 ,you may need to up your budget a bit .that amp is ehh ok i guess.i just dont like amp companys that give efficiency ratings for their products ,cuz usually they are junk, flee market shlt, crap, ghetto or what ever you wanna call it.in laymans terms ,you get what you pay for .

there's a couple of kicker amps here for sale ,look at those
Where? I found a kicker DX 1000.1 that does 1000w RMS @ 2 ohms for somewhere around $220 or $230 on ebay. I'm not sure if that would do 1200w though would it?

Also, as a side question, would that PA Big Bang work with the fuse holder I have right now or would I not be able to touch it at all? Logically, I would imagine if I'm not pulling over 130A of current, it wouldn't be a problem, but I'm not sure.

thats a decent budget amp. well worth $230 shipped for a refurb. I own 2 and I will be running them at 1.2 ohms strapped to 2 lanzar opti 15s in a 7.5 cube wall in my sonoma.

many people have good things to say about them including THEGREATESTPENN.

My buddy has run one in his mustang for the last 1.5 years.

He is running it at 2 ohms on some phoenix gold rsdc10s at 1000-1200 watts. You should read reviews on here instead of posting question.

Your fuse holder should be fine, if the fuse blows replace it with 150 amp fuse AS LONG AS the wire and fuse holder is capable of 150A current draw.

That MB Quart that was posted is a decent deal too.

Just found these amps, what do you guys think of them?

SOUNDSTREAM PCA2000D 2000 WATT RMS MONOBLOCK CAR AMPLIFIER CLASS D MONO AMP 4000 | eBay

Soundstream PCA2000D does 1500wrms @ 2 ohms for $230

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

Soundstream TRX1500D does 1100wrms @ 2 ohms for only $185

I've heard good things about soundstream on these forums, would those also be good choices? And would the tarantula series amp be able to do 1200 watts @ 2 ohms, or is it only able to do 1100?

If y haven't gotten the subs yet just get D4 subs
I already have one D2 sub and another D2 sub is on the way, so I have to get 2 ohms.

I won't get my box for another week or so, and I already have an amp that does 800 watts @ 2 ohms right now, so I'm not in a big rush to get another amp right now. Just seeing what's out there for now and might pull the trigger if I find a good deal
