Place to test equipment?

I'm starting to get parts for a system but most of them are second hand and I don't have a way or the knowledge to test them to make sure they work. Would BestBuy test them for me or would I have to go to a custom shop? Right now I need a sub and a line output converter checked.

Thanks,

Brian
