Pistons vs. Heat - Possible Eastern Conference Championship Preview?

Spurs all the way and dont give me that spurs lost against pistons BS. the pistons lost to the wizards and to utah twice a piece. spurs are deep and the pistons have a great starting 5 and 2-3 good bench players. depth and defense wins games. spurs were not too hot in the beginning cuz of timmy/manu/horry injuries. the addition of finley is awesome and manu realizes he doesnt need to score to win this time around. he creates plays on both ends of the court. its a well rounded team

As a die-hard NBA fan and even more of a die hard Pistons fan, I am honestly more scared of the Heat than the Spurs at this point. I feel Detroit matches up with the SPurs VERY well and sweeping the season series with a RIVAL is a big deal.

You're telling me the Pistons get up for teams like the Hawks, Jazz etc. the same way they do for the Spurs and Heat??? Likewise with the Spurs gettin up for good teams compared to crappy teams.

parker had this celeb trip for the first part of the season and Pop doent put up with that ish. as soon as he addressed it the kid got better. i can be unbiased shit if you look at old posts of mine on here i called the pistons as champs the year before last. but i dont think the pistons will honestly win. it comes down to clutch players. we wouldnt have won the last 2 rings w/ out horry or kerr. now we have horry, van exel, finley, barry has steppued up. as well as having a decent set of big men. our FT% has boosted as well as our pereimeter shooting. not only that the spurs orginization has never cared about 60+ wins. they just want themselves in the last dance. even udrih has stepped up, nas is getting stronger, rasho was having a great season this year averaging 3.5point better than last year. it has come down to a more well rounded team. they no longer have to go to Timmy for the win. thats what detroit had alrady established in the offseason. the spurs just had to adapt. thats what basketball is about adapting. they have done it well.

Wow, that wasn't biased. And you might want to know something about your team before you post. San Antonio is 28th in FT % and are NOTORIUS for being bad at FT's. What has Finley or Van Exel ever done in the playoffs??? NOTHING!!

i said they have boosted their FT shooting. what i should have said is they have improved fom the start of the season. as far as what veterans do in the clutch you watch and see not just in the play offs. heck i remember a few yaers ago finley and van exel being the reason the spurs couldnt have a good night in dallas. they can make clutch plays. pistons are good but the spurs have been playing that defensive style ball years before brown showed up.(pops mentor). we re popularized the style again.cuz last year in game 5 when Rips face was in horry's crotch getting posterized the pistons fans were getting tears in their eyes. and BTW at least our fans have always been fans. most of you crowd is a bunch of hockey fans that jump on the band wagon. i know i was at all the finals games here and in detroit. ill see you guys again this year. hey i think you better go now, your bandwagon is leaving you behind...

san antonio only has one team so who the **** else are they gonna watch? you wanna talk about clutch? did you not see timmy on the bench when they were getting blown out in game 4, he looked like he was gonna cry. if game 7 was in detroit, the pistons would've one the championship. that's why detroit is going after the best record. also the pistons started playing this defense before larry brown came along. remember that guy rick carlisle? perhaps if rasheed didn't trap manu and leave horry wide open for a game winning 3, the pistons could've won. why must you bring up regular season games as well? i'm sure the spurs lost to some poor teams. it's also sad when you bench players are your best clutch players and not your starters. speaking of clutch, ever hear of billups? hamilton has hit a couple game winners this year, and rasheed is always good for clutch 3's and ben always comes up with a clutch rebound or block

I've (my father & I) have had season tickets for YEARS but nice try playing the bandwagon card. I would love to know how you got Finals tickets for a game in Detroit when they sell out and most season ticket holders buy the upper deck.

And your "fans have always been fans" because the Spurs have been consistantly good for the past 10 years. It's easy to have fans when you have a great team there boy-wonder. Wait until your team has a losing season or two THEN you can say that.

my cousin Ben Pedroza is a GM engineer. has been and got the chartered seats. im gonna play it like us san antonians always play it. see you when we get the rings.

Well, the only thing we can do is wait and watch. The spurs are a completely different team when the playoffs roll around, they have been there so mcuh they know the regular season doesnt mean that much. Detriot has something to prove, that they werent a one time champion or transition champion, thats why they are playing hard from game one. We will just see how the Spurs step up in June. I hope to god the spurs beat the pistons, the starting 5 are already to cocky.

since we are talking about stepping up in the post season, the pistons have made it to the conference finals 3 years in a row where have the spurs have not. this is the pistons 5th straight 50 win season so they are no stranger to the post season. look at all the past seasons, the spurs have had better regular seasons then detroit. the pistons were 12 minutes from wining back to back championships, so they are not a one hit wonder. the spurs on the other hand, struggled to defend there title.
