pissin people off

That's a great way to get shot, beat up, or sent to jail for battery. IMO the best solution is prevention, not direct confrontation.

Thats nice.....but IMO touch my **** in my garage and a few things are gonna happen:

1: My dog will bark

2: I will wake up and turn all outside lights on

3: I will open my garage door

4: I will grab my shotgun from the closet

5: I will count to 30 then I will be shooting anyone still left in my garage

Same for me.. However, not with a gun (can't own one). I'm the type who protects property almost to same extent as family. Might be weird, but for me it's kinda like instinct. I have jumped out of bed grabbed a baseball bat and ran out side to garage quickly over noises that actually wasn't anyone trying to break in.. I do it before I realize I'm doing it at times..

Protecting your property is fine. My point wasn't to let people 'touch your shit', it was that setting up your alarm to create a situation in which you will be confronting a would-be thief is a bad idea, legally and for safety reasons. Notice where I discussed prevention.

BTW, while you are counting to 30, or tuning the lights on, or whatever, I hope you dont get your head blown off. My recommendation is if you put a gun in your hands, be prepared to use it as soon as necessary. Trying to scare people off by seeing your gun is a good way to get yourself shot. Im not saying this to be crass, I honestly hope you are never put in that situation. Ive had a gun pointed at me before, its an experience you never want to encounter, trust me.

well I'm not really counting out loud, just in my head giving them time to flee before I go out there with my gun to see whats going on. I don't want a confrontation if it can be avoided. If it can't I'm gonna be ready to shoot though when I need to.

I see a lot of inconsiderate jack *** in this thread
CLearly you've never driven a vehicle before, everyone on the road is an inconsiderate jack *** you seriously have time to worry about the guy cruising with a sound system over the one that doesn't know how to drive and is endangering your life? But hey people have their priorities, this country is having an economic disaster, but lets go watch jersey shore.

Yep, there are 'professionals' out there that can bypass most alarm systems. But lets face it, most thieves aren't sophisticated alarm hackers, its some adolescent kid with a tire iron. You cant stop everyone, but you can use statistics to your advantage and make the possibility much less by adding an alarm.
Very true...

At least the alarm can wake you up and bring attention to the situation.

For me, alarms on the 3 rides, completely fenced in yard where the gates are locked at night, and I have 6 cameras (4 have night vision) around the house.

2 of those see clearly each way down my street.

Is it perfect? No but for someone looking for an "easy" score, well mine aint so easy.

Now if I could only find a place to mount the laser guided Ma Duce......

I watch jersey shore while drifting through red lights.
