pioneer h/u crossovers

Over the course of messing around with my system I have come to realize that the crossovers on my pioneer590ib are about as useful as a ********** with no ******. Both the lpf and hpf will slightly lower the volume of the frequencies you try to cut off but not much at all. So my question is does anyone with an 880prs know if the built in crossovers work well? Or are there any other suggestions for a nice H/U around $300 with excellent built in crossovers?

I need to rely on these because one, its easier and two, my budget amps crossovers **** balls.

Also, does anyone think I will notice a significant SQ improvement going from a 590ib to a 880prs?

Yes, they work very well. The 590 is more of a convenience head unit, not so much geared toward SQ.

A VERY significant difference. The 880's x-overs are 3 way, not just 2 way.

Not to mention the 880 has Burr Brown DACs your 590IB does not...that alone should increase the SQ drastically.

I swapped my Nak Cd-400 for the 880, and never looked back.

Thanks guys! I just did auto ta and eq and now im getting the sound I was dreaming of! Didn't really even mess with the eq at all or the crossover slopes and such but everything sounds great just from auto. Especially my main problem where the mids seemed to be harsh and out of sinc now everything is clear and loud.
