Pioneer DEH-X8500BS volume either at zero or maximum level??

Today, my Pioneer DEH-X8500BS volume can only be set to either zero or at maximum level. Even when I turn the volume knob and cycle through 1 through 60, the volume is always at max. It mutes when I set the volume to 0. Any idea on what would cause this? It did this on both USB, radio and bluetooth.
