Pioneer DEH-P9600MP Troubles

I got this head unit off a friend...and everything works great and I love the features...only one small problem that I can't figure out...it sometimes likes to not eject a CD..it will get stuck when ejecting..and the faceplate sometimes doesn't make full contact with the contacts on the unit so the whole thing just randomly shuts off and resets all my settings...is this a common problem with this unit or just with pioneer alone? and is there any other way to fix this other than using a pencil eraser on the contacts? thanks!

no those usually arent common problems with them. my guess is that thats the reason he sold it to you, talk to some more people on here, but i think he sold it to you because he got sick of dealing with it.

maybe but he also sold it to me because he went with the eclipse dvd nav double din unit....but i got this for a killer price so i cant complain...just wondering if theres a way to fix these little annoyances..

well about the contacts not making full contact all the time, that shouldnt happen unless 1) there are loose screws somewhere or 2) it is bent, check that and maybe if there is you can tighten them up or try and adjust it to its normal position and that should help
