Pioneer DEH-P6900UB Random Play Question

I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this issue with their Pioneer DEH-P6900UB system.

I'm using an MP3 CD, broken down into folders per album, and I have the system set to Random Play and to Disc Repeat. When I come to a song I don't want to hear at that moment and I hit the Multi-Function stick to the right, it goes to the next song in the folder, not the next "random" song. I've also tried hitting the multi-function stick up/down, but then it goes to the next folder.

Is there a way to get the stereo to go to the next random song manually? It still randomly chooses a song correctly if I let it play through, just not manually. Did I miss an option or button somewhere? Thanks in advance.

Not that I'm aware of unfortunately. I've tried finding a way myself and have not yet. It is rather annoying b/c my friends cheap sony will play a random song after you hit next but not my pioneer which cost 3x as much. Sorry

i have the same deck. i had this problem so i got used to it. but with an ipod the random feature does work and i always have it on.

another thing with this deck....i tried making screen savers on my computer and then loading them onto the deck but when i put the cd in the deck it never reads it. 2 of my friends have the same deck and its the same problem. i am doing everything correct on the computer end to.

besides this the deck is awesome though. i was gonna get this years model but i wanted the color screen and the 6900 has a 16 band eq when newer ones have 7.
