Pioneer DEH-80PRS In a league all its OWN????

I drive 2-3 hours a day average, sometimes 3 hours in one strecth. Sometimes just want to hear all the details of the music, and get a little lost in it. (Dave Mathew kind of music)

In the past i never thought you could get good stage imaging in a car so the idea of this is awesome. Back in the day i have loved good imaging in a home setting electrostatic Martin Logan's were awesome. But sitting down just listening lost its priority over the years. So yeah, if a good sound stage is possible and maybe a field of depth is possible, that would be nice.

Now that you mention simple re positioning the tweeters would fill the void but... i think i understand better now

I'm about to buy this Head Unit but before i do just wanted some feedback.
(1) Is there any other HU like the 80PRS to consider that do the - Auto Time Alignment and Auto EQ, 3-Way Digital Network:

under $400-500?
Well, you could use Alpine PXA-H100 Imprint processor with a compatible Alpine Head unit. It costs something like $150 with the required Calibration kit. Great option for people who already own a compatible alpine head unit. The overall cost is lower for the Pioneed DEH-80PRS though, as you can find it regularly on sale for about $300 online. Granted, the H100 may be a little more advanced (parametric eq option).

Ignore him, he has forumboneritis.

But I figured as much on the radio not working here I know my JDM Pioneer would'nt play any station. But yeah grab the pioneer, I run an external processor so the internal stuff does nothing for me and I do not listen to the radio. I want the alpine to match my c800 controller.

Good luck Roland, the Pioneer fits your bill!
Ignore me.? Alpine is junk now...forum boneritis? I was one of the first people here to have one

I did pull the trigger on the 80prs, it should be on it way today. Ordered the PPI 900.4 amp also, it will drive my T-2652-S RF speakers.

Now all i need is to do is figure out a good, small, (under $100) 8" or 10" sub to go between the 2 front sets, and a good amp for that sub, and then I'll be set!

Thanks For all the Help!!!

Ps, tat2bass, i had to use the credit for returning the Alpine CDE-BT137HD.

go to Parts Express: the #1 source for audio, video & speaker building components and find a nice 8 or 10"

I just got 2 Dayton RS225's 8" for my fronts.

Relax chief, I am just toying with you. Yes the US single din Alpines are less then to be desired. The UK model we were talking about is pretty nice since you can control the h800 with it or atleast some aspects of it.
@Roland;

Once you get it all installed and tuned up report back!
